Mr. Harper had been confined to his room at his home near her for several months with a carbuncle, but had sufficiently recovered from this to go to the Soldiers Home Monday. The remains were brought to Clayton this afternoon on the one o’clock train and taken to the old family burial ground at his home for interment. Mr. Harper was seventy- four years old and served in the Civil War. He leaves of his immediate family one son, Mr. George R. Harper, of near Clayton, and one daughter, who lives in Florida. Clayton News, 24th. Additional Comments: George Robert Harper died at the Soldier's Home in Raleigh, but lived and was buried in Johnston County.
