Raleigh News and Observer:
Died at the residence of Maj. J. M. Crenshaw, near Wake Forest, on Saturday morning
last, Mr. Robert Elliott Harriss in the 96th year of his age.  Mr. Harris was born 
in Wake county on March 16th 1804, in the house in which he died.  He was, if not 
the oldest, among the very oldest Masons in the State.
