The Standard of Raleigh March 5, 1862
DIED
  In Wake County, at the residence of her son-in-law, MR. W.C. BLEDSOE, on the 
24th ult. MRS. ELIZABETH HIGH, in the 66th year of her age.
  Mrs. HIGH had been for many years an exemplary member of the M.E. Church. 
Her last illness was short, and her death came upon her children and friends 
unawares. Life had been a checquered one with her and had lost its charms. How 
to get safely out of it, was her great concern. She quietly breathed her last 
on Monday morning in the comfortable hope of everlasting life. Her remains 
were interred in the family burial ground, near the Falls of Neuse, in the 
presence of her weeping children and friends, who mourn in hope of meeting her 
again in a better land.
