THOMAS HINES, in his 81st year of age, for the last 30 years an inhabitant of Wake County, and for most of that period a useful and most active citizen. – He was a member of the Convention which sat at Hillsboro in 1788 to decide on the Federal Constitution, and for many years represented this county in the State Legislature, in which several states he acquitted his trust with fidelity – and has ever supported a fair and upright character. For the last six years, he was affected with palsey, which rendered him unable to converse with his family and friends, having destroyed his powers of speech and in a great measure, his reason. Three weeks before his dissolution he was attacked with a diarrhea, which caused a mortification of the intestines and death ensued. His numerous friends are requested to attend his funeral at the house of MR. SAMUEL ALSTON, on Sunday, the 26th instant.
