JOYNER Funeral services for Mrs. William Thomas JOYNER, who died shortly after midnight Thursday at the Joyner cottage at Atlantic Beach, will be conducted at Edenton Street Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock by the Rev. Howard P. POWELL, pastor. Burial will follow in Oakwood. Mrs. Joyner, the former Sue KITCHIN, was the wife of Colonel JOYNER, prominent Raleigh attorney. A daughter of the late Governor William Walton Kitchin, and Mrs. Musette Satterfield KITCHIN who survives her, Mrs. JOYNER was born in Roxboro on October 21, 1883. After moving to Raleigh at the age of 15 when her father was elected governor, she attended Saint Mary's Junior College here and married Colonel JOYNER in 1920. She was a member of the Edenton Street Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband; a daughter Mrs. Walter Payne SPRUNT, Jr. of Memphis, Tenn; two sons, William Thomas JOYNER Jr., and Walton Kitchin JOYNER, both of Raleigh; her mother, Mrs. W. W. KITCHIN Of Scotland Neck; three sisters, Mrs. Edward L. TRAVIS, Jr. of Scotland Neck, Mrs. Germaine S. BROWN of Lancaster, Calif., and Mrs. Sam Arrington DUNN of Enfield; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers will be John C. Williams, R. C. Howison, Jr., Godfrey Cheshire, Jr., Wright Dixon, Jr., Willis Smith Jr., and S. Pretlow Winborne.
