Know all men by these presents that we Richard Massey and Jesse Olive are held 
and firmly bound unto his Excellency Governor Ash Esq in the sum of five 
Hundred Pounds to be void on condition there be no lawfull  Cause to obstruct 
the Marriage between Richard Massey and Judith Brassfield other wise to remain 
in full force and virtue (?) given at the Clerks Office in  Wake the 5th day
