Wake County, NC - Vinson King to Peggy Rayla, 1784 ~~~~~~~~~~ State of North Carolina } Wake County } Know all men by these presents that we Vinson King & James King both of the State & County aforesaid are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency Alexander Martin Esquire Governor & his subscribers in office in the sum of Five hundred Pounds Specie to which payment will and truly to be made and delivered ourselves and each of us & each of our heirs &c Jointly & severally firmly by these presents Sealed with our seals and dated this [blank] day of November A. Dom 1784. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bounden Vinson King hath applied for a Licence to be joined with Peggy Rayla in the Holy estate of Matrimony; now if therefore there be no lawful cause to obstruct the marriage for which said license was obtained then the above obligation to be void else to be and remain in full force and virtue.
