Know all men by these Presents that we John Nutt and John Rice both of the State and County afored. are held and firmly bound unto his Excellency Richard Caswell Esquire Governor in the sum of fifty pounds current money Or his successors in Office, to which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves and Each other our gearth of our heirs Exorrs y Administrator Jointly y severally firmly by these Presents Sealed with our Seals and dated this fifth Day of July AD 1777. The Condition of the above Obligations is such that whereas the above Bounden John Nutt hath this day applyed for and Obtained a Lisence to be Joined with Sussannah Tinney in the Holy Estate of Matrimony; Now if therefore there be no lawful cause to obstruct the Marriage for which the said Lisence was Obtained then the above Obligation to be Void and no Effect, _____ remain in full force and Virtue.
