I, George B. Allen, of the County of Wake and the State of North Carolina 
being of sound and disposing mind and memory but considering the uncertainty 
of my earthly existence do on this 5th day of April one thousand eight hundred 
and eighty four make constitute and ordaining this my last will and testament 
in manner and form following (that is to say by design) is that my executors 
hereafter appointed shall provide for my body a decent burial and pay all 
expenses connected herewith agreeable with the wishes of my family together 
with my just debts howsoever and whomsoever owing out of the first moneys that 
come into their hands as a part of and of my Estate.

Item 1st. I give and devise to my beloved wife Mary T. Allen my entire personal 
estate including stock of every description, provisions on hand, money notes, 
and accounts which may be on hand at my death.

Item 2nd. I give and devise to my said wife Mary T. Allen my entire real estate 
where we now live to dispose of as she may think proper.

Lastly, I do hereby appoint my son George M. Allen and my son-in-law Jno. R. 
Holland executors to this my last will and testament to execute the same 
according to the true intent and meaning thereof revoking all other wills and 
testaments formerly made. In testimony whereof I have set my hand and seal the 
day and date first above written.

Signed, sealed, published, and declared by Geo. B. Allen to be his last will 
and testament in the presence of us who at his request are in his presence and 
presence of each other do subscribe our names and witness thereto.
