Negroes Dick and Hannah both mentioned in our marriage contract; 1/3 
part of land where I live; household goods formerly called hers; 
livestock.  
Dau Phebe UNDERWOOD:  Negroes Douglass and Nan.  
Grandson Willie UNDERWOOD:  Negro Cynthia.  
Dau Sarah JOINER:  Negroes Jenny and Isham.

  *I'm not sure who Jaley/Jailey BARNES is, but appears to be of the 
same family because of the same surname associations with Jacob BARNES’ 
records.  (aep)
 
Note: 
1.   It is my belief that most of these families of Wake County, NC are 
from Isle of Wight County, VA.
2.   I also believe that BRASFIELD is a corruption, or vice versa, of 
BRASWELL.  BARNES-BRASWELL-UNDERWOOD-JONES-POWELL-FORT-POOLE all make 
connections in I.O.W., VA.  Many of these families migrated into SC.
3.  If these records are placed with I.O.W., VA, Johnston Co, NC, 
Orange Co, NC and Wake Co, NC, they appear to be of the same family 
group(s), therefore following BARNES from early VA along the migration 
route.
