Wake County, NC - Will of Robert Chamblee, 1819 ----¤¤¤---- The will of Robert Chamblee was dated April 22, 1819, in Wake County, North Carolina. It mentioned Milly Massey, Winny Massey, Elizabeth Bolton, Sarah Hinton, Benjamin W., James B., John Bagwell, John, Jarrod, William, Ruthy Bolton, and Polly Bolton. There was no mention of a wife. Witnesses were Willis Privette and William Jones. The will was probated February 7, 1820 (North Carolina Archives, loose wills). Will of Robert Chamblee "In the name of God Amen. I Robert Chamblee of the County of Wake and state of North Carolina being weak in body but of a perfect sound mind and memory thanks be to God for it, but knowing it was once appointed for all men once to die and after that to Judgement. Make and ordain this my last will and testament. That is to say principally first of all I recommend my soul into the hands of that God that gave it, and for my body, I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent manner at the descretion of my friends and Exuator. And as touching such worly goods as it has been pleased to bestow me with in this simple life, I desire in the following manner. to wit: Item: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Milly Massey fifty dollars. To her and her heirs forever. Item: I give unto my daughter Winny Massey fifty dollars. To her and her heirs forever. Item: I give unto my daughter Elisabeth Bolton fifty dollars. To her and her heirs forever. Item: I give unto my daughter Sarah Hinton twenty five dollars. To her and her heirs forever. Item: I give unto my son Benjamine W. Chamlee twenty five dollars. To him and his heirs forever. Item: I give unto my son James B. Chamblee fifteen dollars. I give unto him and his heirs forever. Item: I give unto John Bagwell my son in law, fifteen dollars. After my death and my funeral charges are paid, then the following of my estate to be equally divided between my four oldest daughters Milly Massey and Winney Massey and Elisabeth Bolton and Sarah Hinton and my youngest son William Chamlee. John Chamblee was named as executor. A list of notes against the estate gives named James Chamblee, Nehemiah Privett, and Grael Privett. A judgment named Jerrod Chamblee on accounts.
