Wake County, NC - Will of Henry Cole, 1789 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wake Co., State of North Carolina Will for Henry Cole In the name of God Amen. I Henry Cole, planter of the county of Wake and State of North Carolina. Being sickley but in perfect memory thanks be to God. Calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) First and principally I give and bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it, me and my body to this earth from whence it came and all my worldly goods as followeth. I give and Bequeath to my beloved wife Maryann Cole one third part of all my pershable estate. I give and bequeath to my son George Cole one bed and furniture. I give and bequeath to my daughter Maryann Cole one bed and furniture and one cow and calf. I give and bequeath to my four sons George, Martin, Henry Jr. and Shadrack Cole all my lands to be equally divided betweenist them. My will and desire is that after the above legacies and my just debts is paid that the remainder of my estate be divided between my two daughters Maryann and Thursday Cole equally and I do hearby nominate and constitute Nathan Jones, Sen. and John Bradford excutors of this my last will and testament revoking all former wills by me made in witness my land and seal 12th May 1789.
