Wake County, NC - William Hobbs Estate Division ¤¤¤¤¤¤ Wake co., North Carolina November Term 1804 William Hobbs died without leaving a will in 1802, his children George, Miraim, Sarah, Salley, Thamer, Hulda and Lydia To the worshipful court, we your humble Petitioners: George Hobbs, Miriam Hobbs, Lydia Hobbs minor, Henry Jordan and Sarah his wife, Cullen Raibourne and Sally his wife, Joel Norris and Thamer his wife, William Jones and Hulda his wife. Humbly showeth to your worship that our father, William Hobbs deceased about the year 1802 and that he was owner of a tract of land lying in the said county on the North side of Buffelow Creek joining the land of Josiah Nichols, Benjamin Wilkerson, William Raibourn fathers, and that he did decease without any last will and testament. Therefore we your petitioners desire your worship to appoint a surveyor and five free holders to divide the said lands and to allot each of us our proportional shares of said land agreeable to an act of the General Assembly made and provided in such cases and we your humble petitioners are in duty bound to ever pray.
