Wake County, NC - Will & Estate Records File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Meredith Clapper In the Name of God Amen I Moses Powell Senr of the County of Wake and State of North Carolina being of perfect mind and memory calling to mind the mortality of my body do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following: First I lend to my Dear Wife dureing her widowhood and my two daughters Ailey and Nancy as long as they live single a part of the land and plantation that I now live on Begining at the East Corner of the old apple orchard then nearly a West Course by the Barn and to run between the two dwelling houses out to the back line thence around my line to the beginning, it is to be understood that the North part of the said land, I lend unto my wife as before mentioned and two daughters, Ailey and Nancy, as long as they live single Also I give to my wife one sorrel mare, briddle and saddle, one cow and calf, two sows and pigs, six good dry hogs for bacon, one bed and furniture, one pot, one Dutch oven, 2 basons, one dish of pewter, 5 plates, knives and forks, 4 chears and spinning flax wheal, ten barrels corn I give and bequeath to my daughter Prudence Smith ten shillings in cash - I give unto my son Robert Powell all my black smiths tools and six dollars in cash. I give to my Daughter Mary Patten Twenty shillings I give to my daughter Susannah Matthews Ten shillings. I give to my son John Powell Ten shillings I give to my son Henry Powell Ten shillings. I give to my son Moses Powell a part of the tract of land I now live on Begining at a Hickory in Judge Stone's line thence with said line Et (east) to John Pools Corner thence with his line to Robert Powells Corner red oak thence with line to a red oak corner in said Stones line thence West to the Begining to him his heirs and assigns for ever also ten Dollars in cash. I give to my Daughter Salley Tedder one Heifer I give to my Daughter Elizabeth Smith twenty shillings. I give to my son William Powell the balance of the land and plantation not devised respect being had to his mothers widowhood and his two sisters part during their living single-- I give sd land to him his heirs and assigns for ever--also one apple mill and press three Peach stands, six sisty gallon casks with Six dollars in money---- I give to my Daughter Ailey Powell one bed and Furniture with one Heifer I give to my Daughter Nancy Powell one bed and Furniture with one Heifer My will and desire is that all the rest of my Estate of what kind or nature soever be sold and after all my just debts are paid out of it to be Equally Divided between my Daughter Sally Tedder Ailey and Nancy Powell--and I do hereby constitute and appoint my two sons Robert and William Powell Excrs. of this my last Will and Testament.
