I Hardy Pool of Wake County being afflicted in body but of sound disposing mind and memory do make and deliver this my last will and testament in manner and form following, to wit: 1st i lend to my beloved wife Edith Pool my Houses and so much of my plantation and Woods Lands as may be sufficient for her during her natural life. 2nd I give and bequeath to my four sons William Pool, Howard Pool, George Pool, and Hardy Pool all my land to be divided by Burwell Pool. James Peters Junr and Joshua Sugg junior or any two of them in the following manner, Williams to included his plantation he now lives on, and be of the value of two hundred dollars over and above the value of one fourth part of the whole of my land. Howard to include his plantation that he lives on and to be of the value of forty five dollars over and above one fourth part of the whole of my land. Georges part to include the plantation William first settled on to be as near as may be of the value of one fourth part of the whole after the sums above mentioned to William and Howard and the consideration hererafter to Hardy. And Hardys is to include the plantation where on I live, his part to be as much over and above the value of one fourth part of the whole after the sums mentioned to William and Howard as may be thought Equitable in consequence of his mother having her life on it, and when do divided each of them to possess and enjoy the Lot so laid off to him in fee simple to him and his heirs forever. 3. I further give and bequeath to my son George Pool one sorrel filly and saddle, one feather bed furniture one cow and calf to him and his heirs. 4. It is my Will and desire that when my son Hardy Pool arrives at the age of twenty years, he shall then have my negro Prudey with her increase from and after that time, one Horse and saddle of equal value of Georges, one feather bed furniture, one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever. 5th I further lende to my wife Edith during her natural life my negro girl Jincy with her increase, if any, and all my household and kitchen furniture, all my stock of Horses, cattle Hoggs and sheep and the increase of Prudy if any until Hardy arrives at the age of twenty years and all the residue of my property not mentioned of every kinde and quantity after paying my just debts. And at the death of my said wife Edith the whole of the property to her lent with the increase that she may have in possession to be equally divided among my four daughters, Charlotte, Pool, Polly Dunn, Betsey Pool and Nancy Pool to them and their heirs forever. If at any time my said wife Eadeth should let either of her said Daughters, as they may need, have any of the said property to her lent (the two negro girls excepted) the value of the same to be deducted out of her other part of receiving when a division is made. I also lend to my said wife, Edith, my negro Prudy until the time before mentioned to Hardy. I do constitute and appoint my friend James Peters and my wife Edith Pool my whole and sole executor and Executrix to this my last Will and Testament.
