Transcribed by Catharine Rogers Phillips In the name of God Amen. I William Rogers being in a low State of helth [sic] but in sound mind and memory hath thought it proper to Constitute and appoint this my last will and testament. First. I recommend my soul unto the Lord that gave it and my boddy [sic] to be buried in a decent maner [sic]. Secondly. I give unto my belov'd Son Benjamin Rogers Seventy five acres of land fifty on the East side of Staly (uncertain) Fork and twenty five below the little mountain. Thirdly. I give unto my belov'd Son John Rogers one hundred acres of land including whereon I now live after the death or widow hood of my belov'd wife Ra**** (crossed over and scratched out except for the first letter "R") Rogers. Fourthly. I give unto my beloved wife (name again scratched out and nearly obliterated) all the rest of my Estate during her natural life and after her death to be eaqually [sic] divided between my children Benjamin & John Except if my wife should marry she is only to have a child's part. The above I acknowledg [sic] to be my last will and testament. Signed, dated and delivered in the presence of (badly scratched).
