Marriott bb In the name of God amen I LEWIS ROWLAND of Wake County and the State of North Carolina being in sound and disposing mind and memory do this 31st day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Thirty Nine (1839) make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following ____ Item 1st. I give my soul unto Almighty God who gave it and my body to the Clay, to be burried in a decent manner the discretion of my Executor whom I shall hereafter name and as to such worldly Estate as I poses I give Item 2nd. I lend unto my wife RHODA ROWLAND fifty acres of land whereon I now live it being all the land I have which is not deeded away, and including part of my dwelling house to her the said RHODA ROWLAND during her natural life my will and desire further is that my Executor after my death shall lay of and allot to the said RHODA ROWLAND at his discretion a sufficiency of provisions stocks of all discritions provided it is left at my death household and kitchen furniture as he may think necessary for the support and comfort of her the said RHODA during her life Item 3rd. I give to my son ISAAC ROWLAND Fifteen dollars to be paid to him in cash Item 4th. I give to my daughter POLLY JONES wife of BARNABY JONES Sixty dollars to be paid to her in cash tem 5th. I give to my son WILLIAM I. ROWLAND after the death of his mother the Fifty Acres of Land that I have loaned her to him and his heirs and assigns forever Item 6th. I give to my grand daughter Levana Partin one Feather bed one bedstid and furnature for said bed provided that she stays with me and my wife during our natural life. Item 7th. My will and desire further is that after my death my Executor shall sell all the rest of my property not otherwise disposed of and after paying my just debts and the legacies herein mentioned the balance if any to be equally divided between my Several Children, also the personal property loaned to my wife after her death to be sold and the proceeds divided between my several Children equally And lastly I do hereby appoint my son ISAAC ROWLAND sole Executor to this my last will and Testament hereby annulling all there wills by me heretofore made In witness where of I the said LEWIS ROWLAND the Testator hath hereunto set my hand and seal this day and date first written signed & sealed in presants of : Pinckney Partin Elheldred Smith Signed by Lewis Rowland ________________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
