Wake County, NC - Wills - Elisha Strickland - 1797 File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by "libbe" Will of Elisha Strickland Recorded 1797 in Wake Co, NC Transcribed by Elizabeth Periman Dated February 23, 1795 Proved September Term, 1795 Wake County, North Carolina, Will Book D, p. 173 In the name of God Amen I Elisha Strickland of Wake County and State of North Carolina being in Perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God Calling into mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say Principally and first of all I give and Recommend my Soul into the hand of Almighty God that give it and my Body I Recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executors nothing dobting but at the General resurrection I shall Receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estates Wherewith it has bin Please God to bless me with in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form First I give to my dearly beloved son Kinchen Strickland the maner plantation where I now Live Containing by estimation three hundred akers Lying on both sides of Mokerson Creek one Negro woman Named Hanner one Negro girl Named Vilet and one Negro Boy Named Croel one Mair Saddle and Bridles one Bed and furneture and all my Cattle but one Cow and Calf that that I Leve to my Gran Daughter Milbre Strickland Also I Give to my son Isaac Strickland Two Hundred and Fifty akers of Land Lying in the fork of Mokerson it being the Plantation where he now lives.
