In the Name of God amen  I Thomas Atkins of the County of Wake and State of North 
Carolina being of Sound and perfect mind and memory but calling to mind the 
uncertainty death, do constitute, publish and ordain this to be my last Will and 
Testament hereby revoking and making Void all other Wills by me heretofore made

Imprimis - I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Penny One Negro Girl named Cassy?
And her future increase one Feather bed and furniture to her and her Heirs forever, 
likewise I lend to my beloved Wife during her natural life or Widowhood all my lands, 
and the following Negroes (Viz) Abram Celey, Inda, & Anna, and their future Increase, 
and all the rest of my Estate of What kind Soever which is not hereinafter given a 
way She paying all my Just debts

Item.  I give and bequeath to my Daughter Polly three Negros (Viz) Betty Cherry, & 
Willis and their future Increase and two Feather Beds and furniture likewise at the 
intermarriage or death of my wife one Negro Winch named Celey and her future increase 
to her and her Heirs forever-

Item.  I give and bequeath to my son John one Negro Boy named Harry, and at the death
of my Wife or intermarriage, all my lands and the following Negroes (Viz) Abram, Inda 
and Anna and their future Increase to him and his Heirs forever-

Further my Will and desire is that if my Wife Should Marry, that all the property 
which Shall then be remaining, which is not already given away Shall be sold and 
equally divided between my Wife and my two Children and if She should not marry at her 
Death to be Sold and equally divided between my two Children 

Lastly- I constitute and appoint my trusty Friends Martin Lane and Theophilus Hunter 
executors to this my last Will and Testament.  Hereby again revoking and making Void 
all other and And former Wills by me heretofore made in Witness whereof I have 
hereunto Set my hand and Seal this twenty sixth day of November in the year of Our 
Lord one Thousand eight hundred and Two

The within last Will and Testament of Thomas Atkins dec'd was in open Court duly 
proved by the oath of Seth Porch a subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be 
recorded
