I Zacharias Thompson of Wake County and state of North Carolina being sick of body though of perfect mind and memmory do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament. First I lend to my beloved wife Mary Thompson, enduring her widowhood one half the tract of land on which I now live by deed of Charles Liles to me one Negro fellow named Jim one gray mare called Chaney two cows and calves two head of sheep one sow & pigs also all my plantation utensils together with all my household and kitchen furniture beds on excepted which will hereafter to be disposed of. I also give to my beloved wife Mary Thompson one feather bed and furniture. Item I give to my eldest son Jonathan Thompson one hundred and seventy acres of land by deed of Charles Liles to him one horse and saddle and bridle one fether bed and furniture two cows fore head of sheep two sows and pigs which he now has in his possession. Item I give to my son Solomon Thompson one hundred and sixty two acres of land by deed of myself to him one horse saddle and bridle which he has in his possession also one fether bed and furniture two cows fore head of sheep two sows and pigs hereafter to be put in his possession. Item I give to my son Benjamin Thompson one hundred and ninety two acres of land on which I now live to take possession of one half at my decease and the other half at his mother's decease or ????? get also one horse saddle and bridle one fether bed and furniture two cows fore head of sheep two sows and pigs which he has in his possession. It is also my will and desire that all my property not heretofore mentioned be sold and after paying all my just debts the money arising from such sale be disposed of in manner following. Viz. that each tract of land I have heretofore given to my sons Jonathan, Solomon and Benjamin be assayed and valued and that they which have the lands of the smallest value shall receive such a sum of money as shall make his lands equal in value to those having land of the greater value and that all moneys then remaining be equally divided between my three sons Jonathan, Solomon and Benjamin and after the death or marriage of my wife Mary Thompson that all my property then remaining be sold and the money equally divided in like manner. It is further my will and desire that whereas I have given to my son Jonathan Thompson moneys and household furniture not herein mentioned that he give a true inventory of the same and that my sons Solomon and Benjamin shall receive each a sum equal thereto. Lastly I nominate and appoint my sons Jonathan Thompson, Solomon Thompson and Benjamin Thompson whole and sole executrix to this my last will and testament ratifying and confirming this to be my last will and testament revoking all wills by me heretofore made in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 9th day of December 1799.
