The county was divided into two triangles, Warrenton, Norlina, and Littleton forming one triangle and Macon, Wise and Drewry forming another. The query read as follows: “Resolved that co-operative marketing of cotton and tobacco would be beneficial to the farmers of Warren county.” The first debate was held on Friday night, January 23, Littleton winning in one triangle and Wise in the other. These two schools me on Friday night, February 6 to determine the winner of the county wide debate. Littleton won the debate by a unanimous decision for both its affirmative and negative teams. The names of the debaters of the Littleton school are: Miss Mary Faucette Ricks and Paul King, who debated the affirmative side, and Miss Frances Tate and Miss Virginia Tate, who debated the negative side. All of these debaters are senior except Miss Frances Tate, who is a junior. The Littleton high school is a member of the North Carolina debating society and will enter the State-wide debate on the Philippine independence question to be held some time in April.
