Durham Sun: Mamie Gray, the young girl who is said to have been left in Smoky
Hollow by a young man named C T Aldridge, was yesterday taken to her home in
Warren county, near Warren Plains, by one of the police officers of this city.
Some of Durham's generous hearted citizens made up money and paid the girl's way
home. It is learned that upon arrival there, the girl's mother was at first
disposed not to have much to do with her daughter. She soon became reconciled
however, and took her daughter back, and all was forgiven.
