Died 

On the 15th ult. Col. William Alston, Esq. of the county of Warren, a truly, 
useful and valuable member of society. As a man his conduct was marked with 
prudence and a temperate firmness of mind which gave dignity to his character; 
as a citizen and as a magistrate, he was useful and exemplary; as a husband 
and father, the anguish of an inconsolable widow, and the sorrows of a 
numerous family of children whom he has left to deplore his loss will witness 
his virtues; whilst all who knew him will drop a tear to the memory of a 
worthy man.
