NEWPORT NEWS – Dallas Ward Harton, died Thursday in Riverside Hospital.
  Born in Norlina, N.C., he was a Peninsula resident for 62 years. He 
retired from Newport News shipbuilding after 43 years of service. He was a 
member of Hilton United Methodist Church, Newport News and was an Army 
veteran of World War I.
  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Esther Carroll Harton; and four sisters, 
Mrs. Lula H. Williams, and Mrs. Myrtle H. Dupriest, both of Newport News, 
Mrs. Maggie H. Hayes of Norlina, N.C., and Mrs. Sadie H. Wilson of Rocky 
Mount., N.C.
  A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. in Wakefield Cemetery, by 
the Rev. James M. Tongue.
  The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today in Purviance 
Funeral Home, Wakefield.
