DURHAM MORNING HERALD - 08-29-1971, P. 38

  WISE - Maynard Andrew Paynter, 83, died Friday night in Warren General Hospital 
after a short illness.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Chapel 
by the Rev. Wade Tucker and the Rev. John Phillips.  Burial will be in Wise 
Cemetery.

  Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Florence Wilkerson Paynter; one daughter, Mrs. 
Robert Lee Parham of Capron, Va.; five sons, J.T. Paynter of South Hill, Va., 
A.W. Paynter of Richmond, Va.; Luther F., Maynard and Leonard Paynter, all of 
Wise; one sister, Mrs. Nora King of Wise; four brothers, Claude, Luther, Grover 
and Lillian Paynter, all of Norlina; and 36 grandchildren and 35 great-
grandchildren.
