The Star
1 Feb 1810

In November last at St. Jago de la Cuba, Mr. Randolph Seagrove, a native of 
Warren County in this state. In the year 1799, Mr. Seagrove enlisted into the 
army of the United States as a common soldier under Capt. Maurice Moore, who, 
discovering in him talents worthy of culture, entered him a student at the 
University and afterwards aided him in establishing himself in the mercantile 
business. He died amidst the fairest prospects of success in life and with the 
sincere regret of all who knew him.
