Copy received from North Carolina State Archives.] [The first two lines of this will are badly faded.] In the name of God amen. I William Als[faded] [of the ?] County of Warren & State of No Carolina being of sound mind & memory but weak in flesh & calling to mind the mortality of man & knowing that it is appoint-ed once for all to die do make & ordain this my last will & Testament in manner & form following (viz) [First ?] I give & devise to my beloved wife Elizabeth Alston the follow-ing negroes (to wit) Old Will & Old Lucy with all my stock of every description also all my house hold & kitchen furniture with the use of all my lands during widowhood. Item I give & devise to my daughter Charety D. W. Alston the following negroes, to wit, Jupitur, Bess and thier four children Lanford, Willie Joe, Chance, & Polley, also Mary & her two children Vicey [?] & Slaphies [?] with their increase to her & her heirs forever. Item It is my desire that the follo_- ing negroes, to wit, Aggy, Luc_-chira, Drury, Matthew, Carolina, Missey, Holley, Lynder, & Nat should be sold & the proceeds with my crop of tobo with all the de-bts & dues of every description sho-uld be appropriated to the payment of my just debts. Item It is my desire that all my estate not heretofore given away or dispos'd of should be equally divided between my beloved wife Elizabeth & Daughter Charety. Lastly I [illegible] constitute & appoi-nt my brothers Thos & Whitl Alston my friends Lewis & Saml Williams with my wife as Exrs & Executx to this my last will & Testament revoking & disannulling all others by me made In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this 21st of Novm 1810. Alston should be kept toge-ther & work'd for their mutual interest each one drawing the profits in proportion to the Lands they may work I hereby request that it may be so manage-d by my Exor that this codi-cil should in no manner affect the validity of the above will.
