Imprimis: First I give my soul to God who gave it me. Next I give my body to be buried in a decent order at the direction of my executor. Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved son Thomas Fussell five shillings proc and no more but what he has had. Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Elizabeth Cate five shillings proc and no more but what she has had. Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Ann Wooten five shillings proc and no more but what she has had. Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Jean Strother five shillings proc and no more but what she has had. Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved son Aaron Fussell five shillings proc and no more but what he has had. Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Susy Floyd five shillings proc and no more but what she has had. Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved son Moses Fussell five shillings proc and no more but what he has had not as yet. Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved son William Fussell one hundred acres of land, beginning at a hickory on the north side of Sandy Creek thence up a bottom to Aaron Fussell's spring, thence along a line of marked trees to a white oak, Benjamin Hard's corner tree, thence along a line of marked trees to a hickory, James Arnold's corner near the head of ye branch that divides Arnold's land and mine, thence down the said branch to John Estes' line, thence along his line to ye said creek, then up the said creek to ye first station It being the plantation I now live on, be it a hundred acres more or less; one feather bed and furniture, the mare that is now called his mare; one bridle and saddle; one cow and calf; one sow and piggs; one pewter dish; one pewter bason; two plates and six spoons; and one iron pott; and two sheep. He is not to disturb nor interrupt his mother of any liberty on the plantation or land during her life or widowhood Item: I give to my well beloved wife Elisabeth Fussell all and singular the remaining part of my personal estate after my just debts paid during her life or widowhood. And after her decease I give ye Negro Fellow Ben to my son Moses Fussell and the remaining part of the estate to my son William Fussell. Item: Lastly, I appoint my well beloved wife Elizabeth Fussell and my beloved sons Aaron Fussell and William Fussell whole & sole executors of this my last will and testament as witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this Twentyeth day of August 1776, revoking all other will or wills heretofore made by me.
