I Rachel Harriss of the County and State of for said Nowing that all persons have to die do make this my last will and testament with the help of God. Item 1st I give to my Daughter Sally Mealer one large Iron pot and one large puter Bason. Item 2,, I give to my daughter Elizabeth Bobbitt one folding Table and my side Saddle. Item 3th ,, I give to my Daughter Patience Bobbitt one painted chest one pare fire Tongs and one Gridiron. Item 4th,, I give to my Daughter Nancy Egerton one walnut chest and one looking glass. Item 5th,, I give to my Daughter Charity Cockly one spice mortar. Item 6 I give to my Daughter Pressila Cimbul one pine chest and one small trunk and the right of which to be in her her life and to dispose of as she thinks proper. Item 7 I give to my sun Simon Harrass one small jug. Item 8 I give to my sun Wilmont E Harrass one feather bed and furniture. Item 9th I give to sun Bedford Harrass Ten shillings to him and his heirs forever. Item 10th I wish all the balance of my property sold by my Administrators and all the money culected by them and be equally divided between them all my children except my sun Bedford Harrass and his heirs where I have left ten shillings in full of their part of my estate forever. Item 11th,, it is my will and desier that the money going to my daughter Pressila Cimbul be hers so that she may dispose of it as she may think proper and I wish my sun and law, John Bobbitt and John Mealer to Administer on my Estate and settle the same. Item 12th,, I wish all my clothes to be equally divided between my six living daughters this 8th day of September 1818. Bobbitt Warren County Feby Court 1823 The execution of this last will and testament of Rachel Harriss decsd’ was proved in open court by the oath of C. H. Bobbitt a subscribing witness thereto and on motion B R Cas Drake cwcc Additional information: Rachel Harris was the daughter of John Egerton and Elizabeth Nicholson of Warren County. She was the widow of Charles Harris who died intestate in Warren County North Carolina in 1786. She was born on June 9, 1732 according to the Egerton Family Bible. The children mentioned in the will: Sally Mealer – Sarah "Sally" Harris married James Mealer in Warren County NC on Jan 3, 1778, she died after 1840 in Warren Co. NC Elizabeth Bobbitt – Elizabeth Harris married Randolph Bobbitt, she is said to have died in 1850 in Franklin Co. Tennessee Patience Bobbitt – Patience Harris married John Bobbitt, she died in 1854 in Warren County, NC Nancy Egerton – Nancy Harris married her first cousin, John Judkins Egerton in Warren Co. NC on Aug 21, 1798. Charity Cockly – Charity "Cherry" Harris married William Colclough, she died in 1846 in Taliaferro County, Georgia Pressila Cimbul – Priscilla Harris married Leonard "Lenn" Kimball in Warren Co. North Carolina on July 22, 1780 Simon Harrass – Simon Harris married Martha Durden in Warren Co. NC, moved to Chesterfield Co. South Carolina where he died after 1830 Wilmont E. Harrass – Wilmot Egerton Harris married Catherine "Katie" Morris in Warren Co. North Carolina on Jan 1, 1799, moved to Greene County Georgia where he died after 1830 Bedford Harrass – Bedford Harris married Priscilla Lancaster in Warren Co. North Carolina on Dec 5, 1811. Even though he is mentioned in his mothers' will, he appears to have died three years before it was written in Warren Co. North Carolina in 1815. Rachel and Charles Harris also had a son named Frederick Harris. Frederick never married and died intestate in Warren County North Carolina in 1813 and thus is not mentioned in the will.
