Warren County, NC - Will of Herbert Haynes, 1793

WILL OF HERBERT HAYNES
26 August 1793

"In the name of God Amen.  I, Herbert Haynes of Warren County and state 
of North Carolina, being of sound mind and imposing memory do make, 
constitute and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form 
following:

     Item  My will and desire is that my estate be equally divided between 
           my two daughters Polly and Elizabeth both real and personal of 
           every nature or kind soever.

     Item  My will is that the Negroes by the name of Esther, Ellen and 
           Harriot be liberated and freed by my executors.

     Item  My will and desire is my friends COL. W. R. DAVIE, EATON HAYNES, 
           WILLIAM EATON JOHNSTON, CHARLES B. JONES, AND EATON PUGH [son 
           of Ann Eaton Haynes Pugh] be constituted and appointed my Executors 
           to this my last Will and Testament revoking all others by me made.

In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 26 August 1793"

"Warren County August Court 1793 this Last Will and Testament of 
Herbert Haynes, deceased was presented in Court and proved by the oaths 
of William Ballard and John Ellington, witness thereto, and ordered to 
be Recorded whereupon the Executors herein named took upon themselves 
the burden of the said Will and qualifications accordingly."

"The last Will and Testament of HERBERT HAYNES, deceased, was presented 
in Court and proved by the oaths of William Ballard and John Ellington, 
witnesses thereto and Ordered to be Recorded. Whereupon the Executors 
herein Named Took upon themselves Burdhen [Burden] of the said Will & 
qualified accordingly."
