HERBERT HAYNES, dec'd, of sundry articles omitted by the Sheriff by mistake in his return of the Sale in January 1794 Viz Purchased by Gen'l Jones [General Allen Jones] 12 Cows and calves @ £55 1 set of Broken smiths tools £12 1 lot of Plantation Utensils @ 4£ 71s Eaton Pugh, Executor NOTES: * Eaton Haynes & Andrew Haynes were Herbert Haynes brothers, they were sons of Anthony Haynes & Jane Eaton, his wife. ** "Miss Haynes" would be Mary Haynes "Polly," as her sister Elizabeth was now a "Mrs." having married Judge Spruce Macay on 30 December 1794. *** Herbert Haynes aunt, Mary Haynes, was the first wife of General Allen Jones. **** Eaton Pugh was related to Herbert Haynes through marriage and blood. He was the son of Herbert's aunt Ann Eaton Haynes and her 2nd husband, John Pugh.
