I, John A. Pipkin, of the County of Warren, State of North Carolina, being of 
sound and disposing mind and memory, do hereby make, publish and declare this 
to be my last Will and Testament, and hereby revoke all wills and codicils by 
me at any time heretofore made.

Item: I direct that all my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses be 
paid by the Executor, or Executrix herein after named, as soon as conveniently 
may be, after my decease.

Item: I give and devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Katie L. Pipkin, 
and my beloved daughter, Helen C. Pipkin, all of my estate, both real and 
personal of what ever kind and nature, where ever found, of which I shall be 
seized, or possessed of to which I may in any way be entitled at the time of 
my death, to be equally divided between them, to share and share alike.

Item: I nominate and appoint my wife, Katie L. Pipkin, to be Executrix of this 
my last Will and Testament, and I direct that she be permitted to qualify as 
such, without the giving of a bond, or other security in any jurisdiction. In 
case my wife should die, then I nominate and appoint my daughter, Helen C. 
Pipkin to Executrix of this my last Will and Testament, and be permitted to 
act without bond or other security.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my name and fixed my seal this 
23rd day of September, 1943.

A paper writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of John A. 
Pipkin, deceased, is exhibited before me, the undersigned, Clerk of the 
Superior Court for said County, by Katie L. Pipkin the executrix therein 
mentioned, and the due execution thereof by the said John A. Pipkin is proved 
by the oath and examination of E.T. Odom and J.H. Duke, the subscribing 
witnesses thereto, who, being duly sworn, do depose and say, and each for 
himself deposeth and saith, that he is a subscribing witness to the paper 
writing now shown him, purporting to be the last Will and Testament of John A. 
Pipkin, in the presence of this deponent, subscribed his name at the end of 
said writing, which is now shown as aforesaid, and which bears date of the 
23rd day of September, 1943.

And this deponent further saith, that the said John A. Pipkin the testator 
aforesaid, did, at the time of subscribing his name as aforesaid, declare the 
said paper writing so subscribed by him and exhibited to be his last Will and 
Testament, and this deponent did thereupon subscribe his name at the end of 
said Will, and an attesting witness thereto, and at the request and in the 
presence of said testator. And this deponent further saith that at the same 
time when the said testator subscribed his name to the said last Will as 
aforesaid, and at the time of the deponent's subscribing his name as attesting 
witness thereto, as aforesaid, the said John A. Pipkin was of sound mind and 
memory, of full age to execute a Will, and was not under any restraint, to the 
knowledge, information or belief of this deponent: And further these deponents 
say not.

It is therefore considered and adjudged by the Court that the said paper 
writing and every part thereof is the last Will and Testament of John A. 
Pipkin deceased. Let said Will, together with the probate, be recorded and 
filed.
