Billizell to John E. Singleton, 30 December 1907 Washington County NC Registrar of Deeds Book 49 Page 569 Printed form State of North Carolina Washington County THIS DEED, Made this 30th day of December 1907 by N. Billizell of Washington County, and State of North Carolina of the first part to J.E. Singleton of Washington County, and State of North Carolina of the second part. Witnesseth that said N. Billizell in consideration of Two hundred and fifty Dollars, to him paid by J.E. Singleton the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged has bargained and sold, and by these Presents do hereby bargain sell and convey to said J.E. Singleton and his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land in Washington County, State of North Carolina adjoining the lands of Jas. Hassell & others bounded as follows viz: Beginning at a pine stump (?) John Patricks Corner, the South 10 d West Twenty Six poles to an oak, thence South 27 d West to the dismal, thence along the Dismal Westwardly to Harriett Skittlethorps line on the west side of the swamp fence along Harriett Skittlethorps - along the west side of the swamp to the line of said Patrick, thence eastwardly along a line of Marked trees to a pine on the forest(?), thence 45 d East ninety poles, thence 65 d East forty four poles to the first station. It being the tract of land conveyed to L L. Newberry & C C Sherwood by Charles Latham Commissioner on March 27th 1886 by Deed recorded on March 27th 1886 in Washington County Register's Office in Book AA page 224 & 225. Reference is made to deed from W D. Cooper and wife Alice V. Cooper to N. Billizell dated December 9th 1905 & Registered in Book 49 page 256, Washington County Registers Office. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said J. E. Singleton his heirs and assigns, to this their only use and behoof forever. AND THE SAID N. Billizell for himself his heirs, executors and administrator covenant with the said J.E.Singleton his heirs and assigns, that he is seized of said premises in fee, and has a right to convey the same in fee simple; that the same are free from all incumbrances and that he will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever against the said J.E.
