JOHN WILSON PHELPS

SUFFOLK, July 9 - John Wilson Phelps, prominent farmer of Nansemond County died 
today at 11:30 o’clock at his home on Suffolk-Norfolk Boulevard, age 67 years.

  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma L. Phelps; three daughters, Mrs. B.H. 
Rogers, of Berkley, Miss Perol Phelps, of Raleigh, N.C., and Mrs. Addie P. Shea, 
of Suffolk, Va.; two sons, J.C. Phelps, of Newport, R.I., and Grady W. Phelps, 
of Boston, Mass.; two grandchildren, Dorothy and Martha Rogers, of Berkley; two 
sisters, Mrs. S.B. Davenport, of Mackeys, N.C.; Mrs. J.W. Phelps, of Emporia; 
three brothers, W.B. Phelps, A.R. Phelps, Arthur Phelps, of Mackeys, N.C.

  The funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at the 
residence of the deceased on the Suffolk-Norfolk highway, conducted by the Rev. 
Dr. I.W. Johnson and the Rev. O.D. Poythress, of Berkley, Va.
