II, P. 3 ROY LEIGHTON SEXTON A funeral service for Roy Leighton Sexton, 59, of Franklin, was held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles L. Smith. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were J.W. Brinkley, Ronnie Fink, Paul E. Sexton Jr., E.L. Marks, Jimmy Bracey, Ellie H. Bailey, W.R. Loving and D.O. Wright. A native of Roper, N.C., he was a son of Joseph Edgar and Mrs. Viola Snell Sexton and the husband of Mrs. Minnie Dillon Sexton. He was member of Franklin United Church of Christ and Knights of Pythians. He was a superintendent for Virginia State Highway Department. Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Linda Pulley of Windsor and Mrs. Barbara Hasty of Carrsville; a son Roy L. Sexton Jr. of Marion; two half Sisters Goldia Alexander of Manteo, N.C. and Mrs. Hattie Wynn of Roper, N.C.; two brothers, Paul Edgar Sexton and Wilbert Sexton of Roper, N.C. and four grandchildren.
