Spruill, Gilbert - 1901 - Washington Co., NC - Wills Submitted by Teresa Kelley takelley@erols.com SPRUILL FAMILY WILLS GILBERT SPRUILL November 20, 1901 State of North Carolina Washington County In the name of God, Amen, I Gilbert SPRUILL of the County of Washington and State of North Carolina, being in my usual health of body, and of sound mind, memory and understanding, Praise to God for the same, do make this my last will and testament, in manner and form as follows, Viz. I give devise and bequeath unto my best friend Tilman GASKINS and his heirs and assigns forever, All the lands and tenaments that I now own on the South side of the main Roads and the North Side of the Main Road leading from Spruill Bridge to the Old Collins Canal, and I further devise and bequeath unto the said Tilman GASKINS all the Personal property that may be in my possession at my death, And I do hereby nominate, constitute and appoint the said Tilman GASKINS sole Executor to this my last will and testament, Hereby revoking and making void every other will or wills heretofore made by me, and I do declare this my last will and testament. In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 20th day of November 1901. SPRUILL and Wm GOODWIN the subscribing witnesses thereto, that the paper writing propounded by the Executor therein named, is the last will and testament of Gilbert SPRUILL and that the same was duly executed by said Gilbert SPRUILL in the presence of said witnesses and that at the time of signing the same the said Gilbert SPRUILL was of sound mind, It is there upon adjudged that the said paper writing be admitted to probate as the last will and testament of the said Gilbert SPRUILL and the Executor therein named qualify as such, This the 26th day of August 1905.
