SPRUILL November 22, 1892 State of North Carolina Washington County In the name of God Amen I James T. SPRUILL of sound and disposing mind mind (sic) and memory but in view of the uncertainty of all human offirs (sic) do make and declare this my last will and testament Item. I give my soul to God who gave it and my body to decently buried. Item. I give devise and bequeath to my beloved wife all of my chattle property consisting of house hold and kitchen furniture stock farming utencils ???? Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife all of my land during her natural life, and then to be equally divided between all of my children & hereby appoint my wife to be my Executrix of this my last will and testament. SPRUILL deceased, is exhibited before me the undersigned, Clerk of the Superior Court for said County, by Mahaly SPRUILL the Executrix therein mentioned and the due execution thereof by the said James T. SPRUILL is proved by the oath and examination of Langley R. BOWEN & Edgar R. ALLEN the subscribing witness to the paper writing now shown him purporting to be the last will and testament of James T. SPRUILL. That the said James T. SPRUILL in the presence of these deponents subscribed his name at the end of said paper writing now shown as afforesaid and which bears date of the 22 day of November 1892. And the deponents further saith, that the said James T. SPRUILL the testator afforesaid did at the time of subscribing name as afforesaid declare the said paper writing so subscribed by him and exhibited to be his last will and testament and this deponent did thereupon subscribe his name at the end of said will as an attesting witness thererto, and at the request and in the presence of said testator, and this deponent further saith that at the time when the said testator subscribed their names to the said last will as aforesaid and at the time of deponents subscribing their name as an attesting witness thereto, as aforesaid, the said James T. SPRUILL was of sound mind and memory of full age to execute a will, and was not under any restraint to the knowledge information or belief of this deponent and further these deponents say not.
