This deed, made this 1st day of May, A.D., 1943 by Charles G. Lewis and wife
Minnie A. Lewis of Watauga County and State of North Carolina on the first
part, to Marvin Combs & wife Della Combs of Watauga County and State of North
Carolina of the second part:

Witnesseth, That said parties of the first part for deed in consideration of
the sum of Two Thousand ($2000.00) Dollars to ??? paid by the parties of the
second part the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and
sold, and by the presents do give grant, bargain, sell and convey to said
Marvin Combs and wife Della Combs, parties of the second part heirs and
assigns, a certain tract

Beginning on a rock in the public road hence north WR Fletchers land north 47
poles to a chestnut said Fletchers land thence north 87 degrees west north ???
7 ¾ poles to a lynn on the west bank of a small branch ??? north 28 degrees
west ??? a hollow with JW Fletchers land 35 ½ poles to a locust (tree) on top
of ridge. Thus north 48 ½ degrees. Each with top of ridge and Frank Miller’s
land 14 ½ poles to a large white oak stump. Then north 84 ½ degrees each ???
with ??? 18 ½ poles to a chestnut tree. North 50 degrees each with ??? 8 poles
to item north 63 degrees each 20 poles to a large sugar tree on top of a
ridge, JC Eggars corner.
