Contributor's Note:   This letter was from Sarah Dyson to her sister in law 
Nora Ann Harbin Williams in Cleveland, Ohio.  Sarah was the daughter of 
William "Badge" Williams of Watauga County, NC, and the wife of Moses W. Dyson 
of Butler, TN.  Nora Ann Harbin Williams was the wife of William Harrison 
Williams, son of William "Badge" Williams.
Original spelling retained.

The letter was written on stationary from Hotel McAlpin in New York City.  
Sarah was on her way to France to see her son Don S. William's grave.  He had 
been killed on 16 Oct 1918 during WWI.  Her travel to France was part of the 
Gold Star Mother Program:

Guess you will be surprised to get this.  I arrived hear this morn six 40.  On 
my to visit Don's Grave in France.  Will sail to morrow at noon.  Am feeling 
fine.  Hope you all well.  Give this card to Mattie as I don't no her ad.  Why 
don't you all rite me now hear in c/o Col A.E. Williams, Q.M.C., Room 901, 
Penna Bldg, 225 West 34th Street, New York City and I will get it.  Would love 
to get a letter from you all.  I stop as company has come.
Will rite more next time.
