Members of Horton Family in Joyous Christmas Gathering
   Sunday, Dec. 29 was a joyous Christmas occasion for Mrs. D. F. Horton of 
Vilas, where eery living member of her family was present to celebrate with 
her a big Christmas dinner and tree.
   Mrs. Horton, who is now 78, made a beautiful talk among other things paying 
tribute to her companion, David F. Horton, who would have been 90 Christmas 
day had he lived.  The children and grandchildren joined in the program with 
talks, solos and readings, also sang Christmas carols.
   Those enjoying this happy occasion were:  Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Horton and 
sons, fuller and David, and daughter, Betty; Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Horton and 
sons, Johnny and William; Miss Alee Horton, Mr. and Mrs. Roland Davis and 
daughter, Suzanne, and son, Roland, Jr., of Seven Springs; Mr. and Mrs. J. C. 
Russell and son, David H. Barlow, and daughters and their husband, Mr. and 
Mrs. Carl Prestwood, Mr. and Mrs. V. D. Pipe and son, Billy of Lenoir; Mrs. 
and Mrs. Clifford Huffman, of Hickory.  Also friends of David Barlow who were 
present were Miss Flo Moore of Burlington, Miss Katherine Moore of Lenoir, and 
Mr. Roy Craig of Lenoir.
