Dale S. Ashley

BOONE, N.C. -- Dale Sanders Ashley, 75, of Boone, died Friday, June 
6, 2003, at Watauga Medical Center in Boone.
Mr. Ashley was a native of Watauga County and a son of the late Roger 
William and Edna Shores Ashley.
Mr. Ashley was a self-employed carpenter and logger.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Coffey Ashley, of the home; three 
sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas Dale and Jane Ashley, Michael 
Ashley, and Terry and Melba Ashley, all of Boone; three brothers and two 
sisters-in-law, Roy and Junie Ashley, Lenoir, C.V. Ashley, Blowing Rock, 
and George and Janice Ashley, Mountain City, Tenn.; four sisters and three 
brothers-in-law, Virginia James, High Point, Mary and Ernest McGuire, Deep 
Gap, Patsy and Dennard McGuire, Boone, and Lola Mae and Mike Horitch, St. 
Louis, Mo.; and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Pauline Coffey, Butler, Tenn. Seven 
grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews 
also survive.
A private memorial service was conducted by his family Saturday, June 7, 
at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel in Boone. Memorial contributions may be 
made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1903, Boone, N.C. 28607.
Hampton Funeral Service, 683 Blowing Rock Road, Boone, N.C., (828) 264-7100, 
was in charge of arrangements.
