Thomas Banner
   Thomas Jefferson Banner, 86, of Vilas died Thursday afternoon at Watauga 
County Hospital.
   A native of Watauga County, a retired farmer and farm owner.  Born May 29, 
1893, son the late Newton and Sophronia Mast Banner, he was preceded in death 
by two daughters, Mrs. Mary B. Moody and Mrs. Virginia B. Miller
   He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Jospehine Baird Banner; three daughters, 
Mrs. Ada B. Crisp and Mrs. Grace Vannoy, both of Route 2, Vilas, Mrs. Cholene 
Aldrick of Williamsburg, Va., eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, 
a number of nieces and nephews.
   Services were conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Kelley Memorial Chapel, 
officiated by the Rev. Bill Boyd, the Rev. J. R. Bouldin and the Rev. C. O. 
Vance.  Burial followed in Mountain Memorial Park and Gardens.
   Flowers are acceptable or memorials my be made to the Dr. J. B. Hagman 
Coronary Care Unit at Watauga County Hospital.
   Reins Sturdivant Funeral Directors were in chare of the arrangements.
