W. COFFEY George Wiley Coffey, fifty-seven, of Boone, Route One, a native of Caldwell county died in a North Wilkesboro hospital on Sunday morning, following an illness of several months. Funeral rites will be conducted at the Boone Fork Baptist church on Wednesday morning at eleven o’clock. Burial will be in the White Springs cemetery. Mr. Coffey was born March 30, 1890, the son of Mrs. Julia Ho9llifiedl Coffey of Blowing Rock and the late Jesse Coffey. He was a farmer and sawmill operator. Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Mrs. Ida Coffey, of Boone, Route One; four daughters, Mrs. Louisa Robbins, of Lenoir, Route Eight; Mrs. E. D. Woodruff of Globe; Mrs. Virginia Triplett, of Boone and Mrs. Marshall E. Nelson of Hickory; five sons, Lawrence, Arvil, Baxter, Shuford and Kinard Coffey, all of Boone, Route one, and nine grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, Harley Coffey of Lenoir, Charlie and Tom Coffey of Shulls Mills and Glen Coffey of Boone, Route One, and four sisters, Mrs. Annie McRary of Linville, Mrs. Ella Coffee of Banner Elk and Mrs. Pearl Day and Mrs. Bertha Moody of Blowing Rock.
