People Buried

   Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Lillie Colvard, 71, of Boone, who died 
Monday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Allie Hodges after an illness 
of several months were conducted Wednesday afternoon at Oak Grove Baptist 
church.  The Rev. c. O. Vance and the Rev. Raymond Hendrix officiated.  Burial 
was in the Hine cemetery.
   Born in Watauga county on July 17, 1883, she was the daughter of Mr. and 
Mrs. Robert Killian.  In February of 1900, she was married to Richard R. 
Colvard, who survives her.
   In addition to her husband, survivors are eight children, Esiey Colvard, 
Mrs. Edna Brown and Mrs. Josie Wheatley, all of Lenoir, Mrs. Masie Oaks, Lee 
Colvard, Mrs. Allie Hodges, Roger Colvard and Mrs. Annie Hayes, all of Boone 
two sisters, 39 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
