Cable died Monday night at home of pneumonia. He was buried Wednesday afternoon at Tyrola. Born in North Carolina, Mr. Cable was 64 years old. His wife preceded him by six years. Survived by three sons and four daughters. Mr. Cable was a Confederate Soldier and a member of the Baptist church for 24 years. My notes: Alexander Lafait CABLE was the son of Claiborne CABLE and Charlotte DUGGER, born in Watauga Co., NC, in 1842. His name appears on the Watauga Co. census from 1850 through 1870. He was a private in Co. E, 37th NC Reg't from September 18, 1861 to June 23, 1865.
