Mrs. Fox was a native of Watauga County, N.C., and a daughter of the late Cordelia Castle and the late C.P. Watts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul W. Fox. Mrs. Fox was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Lunch Bunch. She was a graduate of Appalachian State Teachers College, having received her teacher's certificate, and had taught elementary schools in North Carolina before moving to Elizabethton. She was the previous owner-operator of Hillview Heath Center and Hermitage Health Center. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Jeanette and James "Sam" Bradshaw and Carol and Randall Hutchins, all of Elizabethton, and Jane and Steve Blevins, Gray; seven grandchildren and their spouses, David and Janet Blevins, Elizabethton, Mark and Jenny Blevins, Pedasi, Panama, John and Pam Hutchins, Melanie Davis and fiancé Mark Honeycutt, Diane and Mark Hyatt, all of Elizabethton, Donna and Randy Dumas, Knoxville, and Jeannie and Terry Barker, Elizabethton; and 10 great-grandchildren, Cody Blevins, Cheanna Blevins, Joshua Hutchins, Michael Hutchins, Taylor Davis, Jacob Davis, Drew Barker, Brad Barker, Meagan Hyatt and Lauren Hyatt. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Fox will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, August 12, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Tapp officiating. Music will be under the direction of Jerry Barnett and Mary Lou O'Quinn. The committal and entombment service will follow in the Mausoleum of Hope at Happy Valley Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Friday, prior to the service in the chapel. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family, Adam Greenlee, Michael Greenlee and Jim Greenlee.
