WATAUGA COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Anna Fenner Matherly Greene, 14 Mar 2003 ----¤¤¤¤---- Anna F. Greene Anna Fenner Matherly Greene, 76, Gasteiger Drive, Hampton, died Friday, March 14, 2003, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Greene was a native of Shulls Mills, N.C., and the daughter of the late Samuel Clyde and Edna Mae Farthing Fenner. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, George Dewey Matherly, her second husband, Nolan Greene, an infant daughter, Dorothy Carolyn, and by three sisters and a brother. Mrs. Greene was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Mary Greene, Gray, Debbie and Randy Waycaster, Hampton, and Nancy Brown, Elizabethton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Harold and Nancy Matherly, Elizabethton, and James and Karen Matherly, Hampton; seven grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; five brothers, Bill Fenner, Bob Fenner and Dr. David Fenner, all of Elizabethton, Gene Fenner, Selma, Ala., and Clyde Fenner Jr., Des Moines, Wash.; a sister, Linda Stults, Crossville; and two special friends, Linda Fenner, Elizabethton, and Lorraine Tester, Johnson City. Arnold "Bud" Pate and a grandson, the Rev. Scott Greene, officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday, March 17, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Travis Brown, Jonathan Matherly, Randy Waycaster, Larry Brown, Richard Fenner and Brian Ketron. Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Nave, Charlie Buckingham and Dr. Jeff Farrow. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:15 p.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery.
