Obituary:  Don J. Horton

   Don J. Horton, 85, of Vilas, RFD 1, died Friday at Watauga County Hospital.

   Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Sunday at Henson's Chapel Methodist 
Church. R. D. H. Lutz, the Rev. Charles Ginn and the Rev. E. Queen conducted 
the rites and burial was in the church cemetery.

   Mrs. Horton was born in Watauga County to James W. and Mary Councill 
Horton.  He attended Appalachian Training School and was a member of Henson's 
Chapel Methodist Church. He was a retired farmer and veterinarian.

   Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Annie C. Horton, and a number of nieces and 
nephews.
