Obituary: Joe Carroll Mast

   Mr. Joe Carroll Mast, 82, of Valle Crucis, died late Saturday in Blowing 
Rock Hospital.

   He was in Watauga County to David and Allie J. Mast, and was a member of 
Valle Crucis United Methodist Church.  He was a retired farmer.

   Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews.

   Funeral services were conducted at 3 o'clock p.m. Monday at Valle Crucis 
United Methodist Church by the Rev. R. J. Starling and the Rev. J. E. 
Ledbetter.  Burial was in the Mast Cemetery.
