Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Yadkin Baptist Church, of which he was a member. The Rev. W. H. Kimberlin officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Mast was born in Valle Crucis in Watauga Conty (sic) Jan. 16, 1885, a son of the late D. Finley Mast and Mrs. Jospehine Mast. He was a member of Hibriten Masonic Lodge and chairman of the Happy Valley school board of trustees. He was a director of the farmers Federation, and an honorary member of Happy Valley Ruritan Club and Blue Ridge Electric Membership Corporation, of which he served as a director for a number of years. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace Moore Mast, two daughters, the Misses Lily Jo Mast and Mary ore Mast of the home; three sons, Frank Mast of Patterson, James F. Mast and David Mast, both of Lenoir; a brother Joe C. Mast of Valle Crucis; and four grandchildren.
